About Us

We take great pride in offering our expertise to help you and your business grow and bring productivity to the next level.

How do you work with us?

Not as many people know how to improve their thinking compared to, let’s say, the number of people who know how to ride a bike. You’ll see that it’s not any more difficult than that. First we meet to discuss the goals that you’d like to reach so that we can help you decide which of two approaches to take. Cognitive training is one choice and neurofeedback is the other. Each approach is subtlety more effective depending on what goals are set.

Robert Kauffman is an effective, results-oriented therapist, executive coach, educator, supervisor, mentor, innovator and business owner. He has helped thousands of individuals achieve personal goals and live fuller lives. He has helped many budding entrepreneurs develop their businesses and create great success. Robert has helped poor students become great students. He has helped parents succeed at developing their children into happy productive citizens. Robert has helped couples enjoy their relationships and assisted families in living together in meaningful interaction. He does all this while making his clients feel safe and respected and with a great sense of humor.

Throughout his career, Robert has focused on helping parents and families be more productive and satisfied. He uses systems oriented and developmental approaches. Through his professional training in family systems, human development and cognitive development, Robert pulls from various knowledge bases to influence families, parents and children. For years, he has taught teachers at the graduate level (at IRI/Skylight and St. Xavier University) how to reach and teach ADD/ADHD students. Robert Kauffman is a Senior Partner at The American Institute of Learning & Cognitive Development. For more than 35 years, Bob has been leading the way as a mental health innovator for its applications in business and education. He has been a student of the human mind; pursuing new ways for helping individuals in their business pursuits discover and achieve their career and life goals.

Bob received his bachelor degree with honors at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. Following his undergraduate efforts, Bob enrolled at the University of Illinois, receiving his graduate degree two years later.

He has been a student ever since. He continues to add to his knowledge and remains at the cutting edge of understanding of mental health application in business. In addition, Bob has added practical and specialized skills along the way to better serve his clients. As a result, he is a master practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a human development specialist, a pioneer in employee assistance programming and an avid student of cognitive development and training.

Bob’s career highlights include the directorship of social services for a large Chicago hospital and the chief therapist at Lutheran General’s alcoholic treatment center. In addition, Bob was the director of employee counseling for a family owned global pharmaceutical company with more than 21,000 employees. He left to start one of the first employee assistance programs as the president of Human Effectiveness, Inc.; a company providing employee assistance services to companies and organizations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Most recently he has provided executive coaching and consulting services to businesses throughout the United States for more than two decades.

Bob is dedicated to helping prepare the next generation to enter the mental health arena. To that end, he has been an adjunct faculty member for the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois, Loyola University, DePaul University, George Williams University, Columbia College, University of Wisconsin and St. Xavier University to help train the mental health professionals that follow.

One of Bob’s specialties is in cognitive performance training. He has been trained in this innovative approach to mental effectiveness development and is one of the few practitioners in the United States. This approach has a broad appeal since it helps virtually anyone improve his or her overall performance. It helps anyone achieve significant improvements in their performance in business, academics, sports and relationships.

Many of Bob’s clients think he works miracles as they reach goals beyond their belief in what they thought possible. His clients report not only reaching remarkable goals but of enjoying themselves more than they ever have in the past. Bob helps his clients believe in themselves and learn how to use the most effective tool they have…their fantastic brain. One client recently not only reached his 2005 goals by the end of March but also will reach his five year goals by the end of the December.
